Questions riders ask

How do I check if a green lane is open?

Each lane page shows its current status as far as we know it, with the Traffic Regulation Order text where there is one, and a "Check its status now" button that searches for any current order on that lane. Legal status changes, so always check signage and the council before you ride.

Why isn’t every green lane listed here?

These pages cover named lanes, county by county, and we’re adding counties over time. Right now that’s Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire, Devon, Essex, Hampshire, Norfolk, North Yorkshire, Suffolk, Wales and Wiltshire. Lanes the map data doesn’t name, and every other county, are still on the Holloway map itself.

What does a restriction on a lane page mean?

Red means a permanent or current closure to motor vehicles, amber means a seasonal restriction or a lane that may have one, and green with a note means cars are restricted but motorcycles are still legal. Each comes from a council or park authority order, or is clearly labelled when it comes from map data instead.
