Monk's Trod has a long, contested TRO history: banned to 4-wheeled vehicles from 1990, banned to all motor vehicles including motorcycles from 2002, that motorcycle-specific ban lapsed on 20 October 2021. Currently under a Powys CC order closing it to motor vehicles generally, with motorcycle access only on a small number of specific permit days arranged directly by the council, and no such days currently scheduled. Its future use remains under active local review. Confirmed against Powys CC's own published notice and independent reporting, not currently open to turn up and ride.
