Which suits you
Choose the WR125R if low-speed control and picking it up after a drop matter most: it is 24kg lighter wet (one figure is an estimate).
The Terrain 125 has the lower seat by 95mm, which matters more on a rutted lane than on the road if you are shorter in the leg.
The WR125R has 82mm more ground clearance (240mm against 158mm), useful over deep ruts and rocky steps.
The WR125R runs a 21" front wheel against 17". The bigger wheel rolls over ruts and stones more easily and opens up more knobbly tyre choices.

Our take on each
Yamaha WR125R : A light, tall, genuinely trail-capable 125 for riders on an A1 licence, held back on greasy lanes by hard-compound Dunlops and a very modest engine.
Sinnis Terrain 125 : A cheap, well-equipped 125 with 17-inch wheels that suits easy gravel and dry byways, but it is heavy for its power and not a mud bike.
Remember: rider ability, tyres and the weather on the day move the real answer more than the bike does. Check each lane's own difficulty and legal status before you ride.
