By using Holloway, whether the main app, the standalone grading tool, or a suggestion form, you agree to these terms with MLS Ventures Ltd (company number 16306630), trading as Holloway, see company information for registered details. Holloway shows public rights of way, primarily Byways Open to All Traffic (BOATs) and similar routes, sourced from OpenStreetMap and community contributions, intended to help riders plan legal off-road motorcycle routes in England and Wales.
Some lanes are added by other riders and approved by a moderator without independent verification against a definitive map. These are clearly marked "Member-added" in the app, shown in their own colour, with their own filter and a disclaimer wherever they appear. Treat these with extra caution and verify their legal status yourself before riding.
If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping access to your email secure, since sign-in is by email link alone. Don't share your account, and let us know if you believe someone else has access to it.
If you submit a grade suggestion, a missing lane, or a report, you're giving Holloway permission to use, edit, and publish that information as part of the app. Don't submit anything you don't have the right to share, or anything false, defamatory, or intended to mislead other riders about a route's legal status.
Much of Holloway's map data comes from OpenStreetMap and local council sources under their own open licences (the Open Database Licence and the Open Government Licence). We don't own that underlying data and aren't claiming to, if you want it directly, get it from OpenStreetMap or the relevant council under their own terms.
What is ours: the difficulty grading, hazard notes, closure tracking, points of interest write-ups, blog posts, and the way it's all put together, the actual curation work Holloway is built on. Don't scrape, systematically copy, or republish this, and don't use automated tools to bulk-download the site or build a competing product from it. Normal use of the app, like browsing, planning a route, or downloading your own GPX, is completely fine, this is about bulk copying, not everyday riding. If you want to reuse something specific, ask first at hollowayapp@gmail.com.
Holloway Premium costs £20/year and unlocks surface type, exact coordinates, live weather, street view where available, route planning, live in-app navigation, GPX export and "Navigate to start". Everything else in the app, including all lane legal status, difficulty, hazards, closure notes and a Legal Status Search, stays free with no account needed. £1 from every membership goes straight toward keeping lanes open, maintained, and supporting the people who do that work. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor; Holloway never sees or stores your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically each year unless cancelled. You can cancel any time from Menu > Account > Manage subscription, cancelling stops future renewal but doesn't refund the part of the current year you've already paid for. See company information for more on billing and cancellation.
Holloway is provided "as is". We make no guarantee it is accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Use it at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Holloway and its developer are not liable for any loss, injury, fine, or damage arising from your use of the app, including reliance on lane data, route plans, or GPX exports.
We may update these terms, or the app itself, at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept the update.
